Design and Development are the backbone of Motherson Yachiyo Industries. Our engineering division has developed the experience required to manage any project.

Our North American research and development center focuses on sunroofs and fuel tanks
One of our premier research and development facility is staffed with experienced designers and test engineers who develop our innovative automotive products.
- Established in July 2008 in Columbus, Ohio as Yachiyo of America Inc.
- This facility houses both our design and test teams. They are responsible for sunroof and fuel tanks designed and manufactured in North America.
- Our Testing Facility is capable of validating both our Roof Systems and Fuel System components manufactured in North America.
Motherson Yachiyo of America has worked with customers to reduce development time and minimize or eliminate the prototyping design loop. By working with our customers early with the latest technologies we are able to bring products to market with reduced costs and improved quality.
The Concept Phase
Our Motherson Yachiyo design engineers and extensive engineering expertise allow us to bring our customers’ product concepts to life. To do so, we work closely with the customer to understand their needs and match our products to their desired outcome.
We prefer to work with our customers in the early planning stages so products are integrated into the vehicle system. We can offer low cost solutions, ensure fit and function, and align our strategies to meet the customer’s expectation.
Initial Analysis
Motherson Yachiyo understands the development cost curve and strives to pre-validate our designs using the latest cutting edge software to eliminate costly changes.
Using state of the art software, including CAD, CAE, and Simulation software, Motherson Yachiyo is able to integrate systems into the vehicle and predict performance prior to any tooling or parts being made.

The Design
With a staff of experienced designers, we are able to work with customers to develop the details of the products and match them to our customer needs and, ultimately, provide a design to achieve the ideal result.
Prototyping
In cases where customers need prototypes in order to complete their development or would like to get some early concepts, our team can provide them.
The technical staff at Motherson Yachiyo has years of experience in utilizing the latest in cutting edge technology to develop and complete prototypes for customers.

Performance Evaluation
Motherson Yachiyo has the capability to fully validate and test Roof Systems and Fuel Systems in North America. Performance evaluation capabilities include chambers, vibration, crash, and advanced noise evaluations.

Product Launch
Motherson Yachiyo engineers know that design and testing is not complete until the product is launched into mass production.
To see a design accomplished and successful, our engineers are on site and working closely with manufacturing facilities to make sure launches go smoothly. Production information is fed back to the design team for improvements and future integration.
