E-Coating Capabilities
Motherson Yachiyo has a range of manufacturing operations that allow us to make our products
Our manufacturing operations are made up of glass encapsulation, e-coating, blow molding, and final assembly.

Glass Encapsulation
Glass encapsulation is the process by which we create a frame around the glass. During the process, a polymeric material is injected around a glass insert as it is suspended in a mold.
Glass encapsulation greatly enhances the end design appearance by utilizing a continuous smooth seal. It also provides edge protection, water tight sealing characteristics, and superior comfort by reducing noise and points of entry by water and dirt.
Extrusion Blow Molding
Motherson Yachiyo’s plastic fuel system manufacturing is based on an extrusion blow molding process.
Extrusion Blow Molding is the process of forming a molten hollow tube (parison) of thermoplastic material (polymer or resin) and placing the parison within a mold cavity and inflating the tube with compressed air, to take the shape of the cavity and cool the part before removing from the mold.
Motherson Yachiyo has blow mold operations in three of our North American plants.

Plastic Injection Molding
Plastic Injection Molding is the process in which solid plastic pellets are converted into molten plastic and injected into aluminum, ceramic, or steel molds that are in shape of the end product.
The molten plastic is inserted under high pressure to ensure desired flow and fluid expansion. Once the molten plastic is fully inserted, the plastic molding is cooled so material hardens and takes shape. This process is a robust method for high volume, complex shapes, and high quality.
Motherson Yachiyo has plastic injection mold operations in three of our North American plants.
Final Assembly
Motherson Yachiyo has designed fully integrated, traceable, and partially autonomous assembly lines that were developed to focus on safety, control costs, increase productivity and produce a good quality part that meets all customer requirements.
All products go through in-line testing and final confirmation on our assembly lines. We are very proud of the fact that we assemble over 7,000 fuels tanks and 5,800 sunroofs per day in our North American Operations.
